I am pretty excited to be part of the Gather and Tend community. It is an online community of photographers who are driven to build connection with others. The theme for this month was renewal, which is a great word to be mindful of in the month of January when winter starts to drag on. The photos that emerged from the word renewal surprised me, as they are filled with shadows and dark, with pieces of light in each one. I think it is because my own journey of healing and renewal has been long, and I recognize that renewal can often be a journey and sometimes the light can be difficult to find. Though hard to find, that does not mean it is not there, so focusing on renewal this month has been very refreshing.
